Prof. Edouard Musabanganji
Professor Edouard Musabanganji has 15 years of experience in various leadership and professional roles in higher learning institutions and research and development project management. He served as a Professor of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development in the School of Economics at the University of Rwanda until March 31, 2025.
He has a PhD degree in Agricultural Economics and a Master’s degree in Applied Statics. He designed and conducted Projects’ monitoring and evaluations, Impact Evaluations, Quasi-experimental Research (QER) Studies, Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) in various research areas including Energy, Rural Development, Public health, and Socio-therapy.
Prof. Musabanganji has published more than 35 scientific papers and book chapters in international peer-reviewed journals, focusing on rural development, agricultural economics, and sustainable agriculture. He attended and gave presentations in more than 15 international conferences and research seminars and facilitated more than 5 capacity building technical workshops. He has been actively involved in more than 30 studies/consultancies where he served as Team Leader and Team member.
Particularly, he won and successfully conducted a highly competitive OSSREA-funded 2-year Research Project under Unemployment and Employment Policies in Sub-Saharan Africa. He has also served, from 2018 to 2024, as the PI and Co-PI of other seven Multi-institutional Research and Development Projects including Regional Projects.
He has a sound background in leadership, management, and evaluation of Research and Development projects, and in coordination of project cycle activities.
